Job Description

Papellerie is a Houston-based event branding studio specializing in high-end weddings and social events across the globe. We’re seeking an experienced, innovative, and self-motivated Graphic Designer to join our close-knit team. This role requires a blend of creative talent, project management skills, and a deep understanding of design for both print and event branding. We work in a small, casual, open space studio located in the Heights. We enjoy working with our network of event planners, vendors, and past clients. 

Role Summary

Papellerie is looking for an organized, resourceful, and self-motivated Graphic Designer. As a Graphic Designer, you’ll be responsible for conceptualizing and executing bespoke design work that extends client branding across custom stationery and event collateral. You’ll manage projects from concept through production, liaise with clients and vendors, and collaborate with our team to bring each creative vision to life. This role is a full-time position and the Graphic Designer is expected to be present in the office Monday through Friday during business hours. 

The ideal candidate will have a “can-do” attitude, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, an ability to work under pressure and an eye for detail. Primary Job Responsibilities 

DESIGN 

• Concept, design, layout, and format materials that may include typographic, illustrative, photographic, and graphic elements 

• Develop designs for a range of items including: 

- Save the dates, invitations, monograms, business cards, logos, baby announcements, holiday cards 

- Day-of event pieces such as menus, programs, napkins, signage, welcome kits, stationery, and more 

• Extend client branding seamlessly across all event-related collateral 

• Design within budget constraints and guide clients through design and production decisions 

• Create proofs and revise designs based on client feedback until final approval 

• Copy-writing and creative branding copy 

PROJECT AND PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

• Oversee multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines 

• Define production and assembly timelines for deliverables 

• Select vendors/printers 

• Request vendor quotes and source paper and material 

• Format files for production and release final assets to printers/vendors or internal production team 

• Generate and manage print estimates in Excel, updating as specs evolve 

• Collaborate with production team to ensure final pieces meet quality and accuracy standards 

• Occasionally assist with on-site installation for events (some weekend work may apply) 

CLIENT AND VENDOR RELATIONS

• Lead client meetings for design presentations, edits, and decision-making 

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, planners, vendors, and printers 

• Keep clients informed of timelines, production updates, and mailing schedules 

• Provide clear, consistent communication and solutions tailored to budget, materials, or deadlines 

What we’re looking for 

• 1–3 years of professional graphic design experience (BFA preferred) 

• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); knowledge of Microsoft Excel a plus 

• Understanding of print and production processes 

• Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented 

• A creative thinker with the ability to work independently and collaboratively 

• Familiarity with project management tools like Trello and Slack preferred 

• Passionate, adaptable, and confident with a positive, resourceful mindset
