Job Description

Job Title: Director of Finance
Compensation: $200K+
Company HQ: Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Essential Responsibilities:

• Manage the billing system, support users, assess reporting needs, and implement electronic billing and special client requests.
• Maintain internal billing rates/fixed fees and communicate with clients regarding account balances and inquiries.
• Serve as the primary contact with the banking relationship manager, initiate wire transfers, sign outgoing checks, manage funds, and handle credit requests and compliance issues.
• Conduct enrollment meetings for the pension plan, coordinate with providers and auditors, review 5500 reports, and file annual returns.
• Attend management and partnership meetings, prepare and present monthly financial reports and the annual budget, and analyze budget variances.
• Maintain the electronic timekeeping system, integrate with payroll, supervise payroll processing, and manage tax payments.
• Prepare staff review worksheets, partner draw payments, and calculate partner pay-in/pay-outs, maintaining accurate capital balances.
• Respond to partner and staff requests for information and verification of employment.
• Prepare yen-based financial statements for Japanese tax purposes and assist the Tokyo office with bookkeeping.
• Provide detailed year-end schedules to external auditors, respond to inquiries, review reports, and file all tax returns.
• Prepare and file Personal Property tax returns and foreign country certification forms with the IRS.
• Respond to Census bureau surveys on foreign transactions and economic analysis.
• Supervise accounting staff and coordinate responses to daily inquiries.

Education & Experience:

• B.S. in Accounting and Finance, CPA preferred.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment required.
